Our Mission: The Bank of Tanzania Act ,1995 and our Primary Mission stipulates that this organisation in its capacity as Tanzania's Central Bank is " ... to formulate and implement monetary policy, directed to the economic objective of maintaining price stability, conducive to a balanced and sustainable growth of the national economy of Tanzania". The Bank's Profile. The structure of the Bank of Tanzania is built around primary and subsidiary functions of the bank. In accordance with this new framework, there are eleven Directorates, i.e., Banking, Banking Supervision, Economic Policy, Finance, Financial Markets, Management Information Systems, Personnel and Administration, Training Institute and Secretary to the Bank. Others are National Payments Systems and Microfinance. The Bank has its headquarters in Dar-es-Salaam, with Branches in Arusha, Mbeya, Mwanza and Zanzibar. The Training Institute is located in Mwanza.
