As direct participants in the Depository Trust Company (DTC), Carty self-clears DTC eligible transactions through our Memphis office. This procedure is identical to that employed by major broker/dealers located on Wall Street. Further, we have an omnibus agreement with Bankers Trust Company, New York, to clear physical transactions. We also have an arrangement with National Financial Services in New York to clear our equity transactions. This allows a smaller firm like ours to have access to all of the same technology, research, products etc. that a Wall Street broker in New York has available to him. Carty & Company has the best of both clearing worlds. We have the control and efficiency of self-clearing and also the benefits of being associated with a large New York firm. In a highly regulated environment, Carty & Company is a registered broker/dealer with the Securities and Exchange Commission and a member of the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. Our customer’s funds and securities are protected by the Securities Investors Protection Corporation (SIPC) to the maximum limits provided.
